The Best Strawberry Sauce Recipe

This homemade strawberry sauce recipe is perfect to make a quick dessert. It takes just 15 minutes to make and is great to top ice cream, yogurt and cake!

I just love strawberry season! The best part is that you can get strawberries year round.  Right now, I am enjoying Florida strawberries but when they run out, I can get California strawberries. When late spring arrives, it’s time to go and get some local ones from my NJ farms.

What ingredients are required for this dessert topping?

I love this recipe because it requires only 2 ingredients! Fresh strawberries and sugar create a delightful  sauce that we want to put on everything.

While I love to use fresh strawberries, frozen ones can be substituted also.  Just slightly defrost them and you are good to go.

What do you use this Strawberry Sauce Recipe For?

This easy to make sauce is good on so many things! My family loves it for breakfast and I always make a a jar for their pancakes, waffles or French toast. It is great to put on yogurt or top with some homemade granola too.

This topping makes any and every dessert better. It’s great on ice cream, cheese cake, vintage hot milk cake, brownies and whatever else you can think of.  I like to put it on crepes with whipped cream too.

Heck, I enjoy taking a spoon and eating it right out of the jar. I may or may not have done that before. And I sure didn’t save any for anyone else.

How do you store homemade strawberry sauce?

After making the strawberry sauce, it can be stored in an airtight container kept in the refrigerator . I like to keep it in mason jars and put it right on the table for my family’s breakfast.

This sauce keeps in the refrigerator for about a week. So feel free to make a double batch. I never have to worry about storage because my homemade strawberry sauce recipe disappears in a matter of days.

Once you try making this strawberry sauce recipe, you’ll never buy a jar of ice cream topping again. I hope you will try this because I’m sure you will love it!
